Training voucher: English/German for business (AZAV)

Language skills are essential for jobs and career: Language skills are essential for the workplace and your career: the "English for Business" and "German for Business" language courses are designed to improve your career opportunities and help you succeed with your next job application with practice-oriented business English/German.

Learning goals and content

KERN Training native language teachers teach in English and German only, and fully understand companies' requirements of day-to-day business language. With a tailored plan of techniques for the job you hope for, small groups and practice-oriented multimedia exercises, the "English for Business" and "German for Business" language courses prepare participants optimally for day-to-day business in English or German.

The language course has a modular structure. Following an assessment test, you immediately slot into the right level of course (language level A1 to C1 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). You will receive a recognised certificate as evidence of your language skills. 

Choose from these course programmes:

  • A1 to C1 full time: 2 to 20 weeks, weekdays 9 to 17h
  • A1 to C1 part-time: 4 to 40 weeks, weekdays 9 to 13h

Further information about the training voucher

With the training voucher, the Employment Centre pays the cost of further education with a certified training provider. In order to receive the 100% subsidy certain conditions have to be met: Further education must be necessary in order to integrate workers into work when unemployed or avert impending unemployment. We are happy to support you with all the formalities.

English for works councils

In this course, you will learn how to use the English terminology and expressions common to works councils. Real-life examples will give you the confidence you need to communicate with colleagues and customers in the areas of planning, negotiations and meeting situations. You will also learn the skills you need to meet the demands of written communication.

Focus points

  • Developing works council-related terminology and vocabulary
  • Golden rules of business correspondence via e-mail

The various modules deal primarily with the terminology that is relevant to the content as well as concepts that focus on business language skills. The topics range from European laws and standards up to dismissal protection right up to data protection. Participants also learn language skills such as verbal and non-verbal communication, self-presentation or small talk.

These provide just an overview of the possible course content. The precise course content will be aligned to participants' individual requirements on the basis of a needs analysis.
